What a whirlwind month we have had. Jenny, Ali, Geri Wood and I were privileged to attend the Young Women's Conference in Salt Lake. It was a beautiful meeting and we had a great supper at Kneader's afterwards. I love these ladies.

Jenny and Ryan invited us to go to Moab with them the Friday and Saturday of Conference. Larry and Geri went down with Jenny and Ryan on Thursday and had a great time seeing Dead Horse Point and other scenic country. We went down on Friday and enjoyed (sort of) a hike into Delicate Arch. What gorgeous country.
Dick and I had our walking sticks and boy were they helpful. Here we are with our beautiful daughter Jenny. We sure had a fun time with their family.
Spencer holding Lyla, Ali, Zack and Milly near a cliff in Canyonlands.
More beautiful country. We were able to catch some of conference on our Sirius radio, so that made the drive home very nice.
On Sunday morning, we enjoyed conference, and then we had "Grandpa Dalebout" pancakes. I think the kids really got into it. Zack also helped but I didn't get a picture of him. Abish is an awesome helper.

Spencer and Brother Val Jones. Spencer was proud of his achievements.
Next, we headed out to Washington DC to see Billy and Amy. The cherry blossoms were out in full blossom. So beautiful.
The Martin Luther King monument was off to the side of the Cherry Blossom walk.
Billy took us to Fredricksburg, where a Civil War battle was fought. The Confederacy won. It was quite a battle.
Here is a statue tribute of a soldier who brought water to his wounded opponents. He was called "The Angel of Mary's Heights."
This is the hill where the battle took place. We also went to Chancellorsville, where another battle was fought.
Afterwards, we went to eat at a restaurant called Foode. I thought this was a very clever way to keep both sun and rain out of the eating area.
On Saturday, Amy and Billy and Dick and I went to Harper's Ferry, where John Brown attacked the arsenal and tried to start an uproar against slavery. He was caught and hanged.
We hiked up the hill to a church and to the place were Thomas Jefferson stood. We're just taking a rest.
Saturday night, we went out to eat at a Thai Restaurant with Priscilla, Julianna and LeRoy Thong. LeRoy is in Washington DC having some training for his job in Norway. His mother and sister came to see him, and they just happened to be there while we were. We had such a nice visit.
On Sunday, we went to church at 8:00 a.m. Ugh! That's pretty early. Then, in the afternoon, Charlie Jensen, my nephew, came over to see us and take us to Arlington National Cemetery, where my brother, Kenneth Jensen, and his wife Cathy are buried. My brother was in both World War II and the Korean War, so both he and his wife were buried there. Charlie is such a great person. We had a nice visit with him. Below are the five of us: Dick, Amy, Billy, me and Charlie.
On Monday, Dick and I drove to Mt. Vernon and spent about four hours looking around there. It's a beautiful house where George Washington and his family lived. And the grounds were very beautiful also.
Dick and George
Monday night, Billy and Amy took us to Ford's Theater to see "Hello Dolly." That was our Christmas gift from them. It was terrific! Amy and Billy ushered, so they were also able to see the show. The picture above is us standing below the box where Lincoln was shot.
On Tuesday, Dick and I drove to Annapolis and took a tour of the campus there. Every day at noon, they have a roll call of all the cadets. They have pretty strict rules there. I guess that makes men and women out of them. Kind of like our MTC, with several differences.
Below is the chapel at Annapolis. Some of the cadets were in a choir and were practicing. This chapel will hold about 2,500 cadets.
Tuesday night, we again met up with Charlie and had a nice dinner with him. He was very kind and generous to us. We really enjoyed being with him.
All in all, the trip was a success. We thank Billy and Amy for their hospitality and company.
