Fun With Family in Frisco

Another trip, another adventure.  This time we were able to go to Frisco,
Texas to see Scott and Shelley and their family:  Jordan, Matthew and
Andrew.  We were met at the airport by Shelley, who was driving one
car, and Jordan, who was driving another car.  It takes two cars to
transport everyone around.  Dick went with Jordan and Andrew in one
car, and I went with Shelley and Matthew in another car.  We drove to
downtown Dallas, where we visited an Asian art gallery and then across
the street to the sculpture museum.  It was a very warm day, but we had
a great time being with the family.  Scott met us at the sculpture museum,
as he was returning from a buisness trip.

This sculpture was entitled "Rush Hour."  As you can see, we became
part of rush hour.
 
After we met Scott, we got a bite to eat and then went on the trolley all
around Dallas.  It was fun.
 
Saturday, we enjoyed some down time, while kids participated in various
Scout projects and gymnastics.  On Memorial Day, we went to the Dallas-
Fort Worth Veteran's Cemetery.  They had a nice program and it was
very touching to have a choir and band perform patriotic songs and have
people pay tribute to our military people who have died.  It was hot and
humid, but it was worth it.  They had a 21-cannon salute at the end.

After the program, we spread out a blanket and ate a picnic lunch, which
Shelley had prepared.  We ate while most of the traffic cleared out.
 
Then, we went off to the Arboretum, where there are many beautiful
flowers and Chihuly glass sculptures.  It was still warm, but it was very
nice visiting these beautiful grounds.

Aah!  It's fun to be grandparents, especially to such great kids.  We love
these kids.
 
Shelley, Dick and I attended a session at the Dallas Temple.  That was
really nice.  The temple style is very different from most other temples.
Sorry that the temple is on its side.
 
Of course, we couldn't forget Reilly.  She is a sweet dog and fun to be
around.
 
Saturday, we were able to see Andrew's Eagle project.  He and those
who worked with him built this table and three trellesses for vegetables
to grow on.  This was for a vegetable park that many people help plant
and then those who are in need, harvest.  Good job Andrew.
 
We had a very pleasant visit with our family in Texas.  Thanks for
your hospitality.
