We Visited All Our Families--Part 1

Part One of our trip home.  On October 27th, we went to visit Billy and Amy. We enjoyed a nice train ride from Scarsdale to Washington D.C. and met Billy at Union Station.  He took us to his apartment.  It's a cute little apartment in the basement of a house.  Notice the pans and untensils hanging on the wall.  That was a creation of Billy and Amy.  They live in Arlington, Virginia.  The picture below shows the living room /kitchen.  The above picture is at Arlington Cemetery.  We enjoyed the day at the cemetery with Billy.  Amy had to work, so she wasn't with us.

We had a nice time visiting and eating with Charlie, my brother (Ken's) son.  Ken passed away that last of July.  Charlie is such a nice person and we really enjoyed being with him.

We were also able to attend the Washington D.C. Temple.  It is truly the biggest temple we've been in. You could probably get ten Manhattan Temples in the D.C. temple.

We enjoyed visiting the Martin Luther King monument, which was dedicated a couple of weeks before we were there.

In addition to the above places, we also went to the Clara Barton home.  She is the one who started the Red Cross in the United States.  That was very interesting.  Afterwards, we went to the National Portrait Gallery.  That was really interesting. There were even portraits of Joseph Smith and Brigham Young.  And, to top off things, we went to a nice two-piano concert in an art museum.  The pianists were amazing, and we really enjoyed them.  We had a very nice visit with Amy and Billy.  Thanks.
