Eagle Scout Award and Trip to Dallas

We were invited to go to Dallas (Frisco) to be present for Andrew's Eagle Scout Award Service.  That was pure delight to be able to be there and see your grandson receive his Eagle.  Andrew had earned his Eagle in the summer, and Scott's family came out to Utah, so they had a four-generation Eagle Scout picture taken:  l-r:  Andrew, Dick, Scott, and Grandpa Dalebout (sitting down).  For his Eagle project, Andrew helped build a picnic table and trelleses for growing vegetables at the Community park, where various vegetables and fruits were growing to help those who needed extra food.
This young man is 14 years old and is truly a joy to be around.  He has a positive attitude and is willing to help wherever he can.  What a great kid, if I do say so myself.
Five other boys also received their Eagles.  Awesome group of boys.

On Martin Luther King day, we went to a scientific hands-on museum in Dallas.  The kids really enjoyed themselves.  It was very interactive and fun for all of us.
Andrew, Scott and Matthew enjoyed building with these building tools.
Scott and Shelley took a little get-away while we were there and they went to Phoenix.  We stayed with the kids.  They were great.  We really didn't need to tend them much--just a few meals and a couple of activities.  Above is a picture of Matthew and Andrew just before they went to their golfing lessons.  Cute, aren't they.

We took the kids to Babe's, which is a family-style restaurant and serves mostly chicken dishes, along with mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, biscuits, and a yummy lemon dessert.  This picture is taken outside Babe's after we had eatern.  Temperatures were warm--in the low 70's, which was really nice.

And, of course, this was a picture I couldn't resist--Reilly lying on her back asleep.  She is a fun little dog and so cute.

We really had a great time in Texas and enjoyed the time we spent with the grandkids, as well as Scott and Shelley.

What a wonderful event to get to participate in! I'm sure you are all so proud of Andrew! He looks like he's growing up to be a great young man. I love the four-generation picture - it's beautiful. Looking forward to your visit next month, Evie.
