Summer Activities--June and Part of July

After returning from Holland, we were invited over to Josh and Chanelle Uelese's home.  They live in some condos off of Geneva Road.  Chanelle is Susan and Kin Lo's daughter, and they came to visit.  Kin cooked the most remarkable BBQ'd ribs.  It was nice to visit with our good friends from Hawaii.

Next came Amy and her three children.  Amy drove all the way from Kansas.  She was the only driver.  Ashlynn and her friend (MacKensie) and Sam and Elle came with her.  Ashlynn, MacKensie, Sam and Spencer all went up to Salt Lake to go to EFY (Especially for Youth).  Here, they are packing their things in the car.

Zack, Elle and Milly had a great time together.  We tended Zack, Milly and Lyla because Jenny and Ryan went to girl's camp.  So the three kids had such a good time together (except for when Zack and Elle got sick).  They put on plays for us, played lots of soccer, went to Lowe's Extreme Sports, and just enjoyed being together.

Lyla helped Grandpa pick up apples from the tree.

Lyla and Milly climbed up the apple tree.  Lyla got a little help from Milly.

Amy and I took Zack, Milly, Elle and Lyla to Midway to see Scott's and Shelley's lot that they are going to build on.  The rocks are on their lot, but that is the view from their lot.  It is beautiful.

Scott put his hat on Lyla.

We then took Andrew and Matthew, along with the other kids, to the subdivision swimming pool.  Lyla loved it, until she fell into the deeper side.  Then, she wasn't so sure.

Milly loved having Andrew pull her around.  The kids seemed to have fun, except for Elle.  She got a fever.  And after swimming, Zack got sick to his stomach.  So, that kind of put a damper on the fun.  We took Andrew and Matt with us in Amy's Expedition back to Provo.  We had to double-buckle two kids--the two sick ones, Zack and Elle.  Zack threw up all the way home and Elle felt like she could also.  It wasn't too fun.  The kids that were well sat in the back seat, and Lyla had her own seat and went to sleep.

We had a dinner together.  Scott and Shelley were away somewhere, but we had a great time with their kids and Jenny's and Amy's families.

We have had Lai girls in our home for the past ten years.  Keshia is in Ohio getting a master's and Myra went home to go on a mission to Australia.  Then, Abish left to go home.  We are so sad to have them all gone.  It feels like part of our family is gone.  We really love those girls.

Abish and I.

We then took a trip up to Logan to see Grandpa Dalebout.  We took him for a ride and stopped at a little lake and walked around.  Grandpa has a hard time doing too much walking, so he sat while we walked around a little.

Dedee went with us and we had a nice visit.

On July 4th, Dick and I took a ride up to Midway and met Scott and Shelley and their family and had breakfast in a local park.  Then, we went over to see their house that they are renting.

We drove up to Park City and watched the 4th of July Parade.  We had a very pleasant day and it wasn't too hot, as it had rained earlier in the day.

Our good friends, Gordon and Ruth Roberts from England, came to visit and we took them up to the Hinckley Building and showed them around a bit.  We always enjoy seeing them when they get a chance to come to Utah.

We also went to an Owlz game with Jenny and Lyla and Scott's family.  Lyla got quite a kick out of the blowup umpire and the mascot.  She even gave the mascot a hug.

The game was fun, even though they lost.  It was just good being there with family and visiting, as well as watching the game.

You certainly had a busy couple of months. Those kids are adorable. We are honored to be featured in your blog! (note I have used the American spelling of "honoured"!!)
