Activities for the Month of July

We were involved in several activities during the month of July.  On July 4th, we went to Coronado Island with the Formaneks to see the parade and have a barbeque with them.  It was a fun parade, with military and high school bands, as well as cars and lots of people and horses.

On the 7th of July, we started taking a shift at the "information booth" at the San Diego Temple from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.  We really had some interesting experiences.  I loved seeing families go into the temple to do baptisms for the dead.  We also had the opportunity to teach several people about the Gospel and the meaning of the temples.  Many people see the beautiful temple from the freeway and just have to stop to see what it is.  We really enjoyed working there for two months.

A beautiful San Diego sunset.

Beach parties (FHE) with some of our YSA Branch

Bonfire at the beach -- President Little (Branch President), Elder Dalebout, and Sister Cooper, Brother Cooper's wife.  Actually, we had three Family Home Evenings at the beach.  One time it was a "clean the beach" activity.  The other time was a movie at the beach, "The Lego Movie"

Celebrating July 24th at the Santee Stake Center.  Elder Dalebout, Brother Cooper and Brother Deloura (the two counselors of the branch) cooked hotdogs and hamburgers for the whole stake.
